In my last post, I mentioned the value or pretend play and referenced animal toys.
So, I was excited to see this farm toy on sale on Amazon for 50% off (go on over and check it out; now, because Amazon prices sometimes change without warning).
Farm sets are great because they have long lifespans for play, especially pretend play. For example:
- A one year-old can push the truck around or put the animals in and take them out of the barn.
- A two-year-old might practice animal sounds or test newly emerging pretend play skills.
- A three year-old, beginning to sequence steps, can exercise those pretend play skills even more (and really begin to take off).
- A four year-old can have all types of pretend scenarios going on, and may even add additional toys into the mix, like a house or school.
I purchased this Little People Farm for my oldest when he was a year old. It’s not on sale, but we definitely got our money’s worth. All four of my children played with it (a lot).
Do you have a farm set? How do your kids play with it? (Comment below)
